Skip the 400, direct flights from YTZ start next weekend

Starting June 15th, you can arrive at the cottage like a rock star…or in Muskoka’s case, like a Hollywood star and skip the loathsome weekend traffic on the roads north from the city.

FLYGTA (https://www.flygta.com/) and the Muskoka Airport (https://www.muskokaairport.com/) announce the launch of regularly scheduled air taxi service from Toronto’s Billy Bishop Airport to the Muskoka Airport as of June 15, 2018.

The flights will run from June to October and will operate between Billy Bishop Airport and Muskoka Airport (just outside Gravenhurst), with an approximate travel time of 35 minutes. The twin engine Piper Panther aircraft will comfortably accommodate up to eight passengers at a time with a one-way ticket price of $140.

“These flights are a great way for Muskoka residents and visitors to avoid traffic and save time,” said Chris Nowrouzi, CEO of FLYGTA. “The flights will run to and from Muskoka on Friday, Saturday and Sunday during peak travel times. We want to take the stress out of travel by providing outstanding customer service with no line ups and digital ticketing.”

And who knows whose jet will be landing beside you at the Muskoka Airport, which is open year round and accommodates jets up to 737s. This airline currently services the Lake Simcoe cottage crowd so it only makes sense that it is time to expand to Muskoka.
