Sawdust City Music Festival, Gravenhurst – August 3-5

Sawdust City Music Festival returns to beautiful historic “Sawdust City” Gravenhurst, ON this coming August long weekend. The second annual 3-day multi-venue music festival will feature award-winning artists such as the Good Lovelies, Rose Cousins, and Royal Wood.

The weekend will include two evenings at the Opera House, a Songwriters’ Circle, Music on the Barge, Sunday Kids Zone (children’s programming, story time, balloons and so much more), and a vendor village in Gull Lake Rotary Park.

Micah Barnes ‘At the Sands’   – August 2

Audiences will be transported back to the early 60s, when the hottest entertainers in the world made their home at the Sands Hotel!  Micah and his band of top flight Jazz musicians will be performing songs made famous by Sammy Davis Jr., Tony Bennett, Nat King Cole, Lena Horne, Mel Torme, Judy Garland & Frank Sinatra.  Feel the sizzling and glamour of this classic Vegas era with one of Canada’s best loved vocalists!

Muskoka Rocks – Minett – August 5

Not a concert despite the name, this is a great 10K run. John Derringer, Host of Derringer in the morning on Q107 Toronto & The Daily Derringer Podcast will be the race ambassador for the 15th Annual Muskoka Rocks Races. You can still register for this road run that takes place on Sunday, August 5th. There is a 10K, a 5K run/walk and a Kids “Magical” IK. This is a great training run or family time and this run benefits Camp Oochigeas, an oncology camp right located in Muskoka. Camp Ooch has recently benefited from expansion and upgrading a number of buildings including the Med Shed, where campers can have chemotherapy. Learn more about Camp OochCamp Ooch and the great camper experiences there or just come for a great catered run on the hilly Muskoka roads. I warn you though, it is hilly!!! #MR4KIDS

Summer Music Cruise – August 5

Peter’s Players Summer Music Cruise is always a GREAT TIME! The 4 hour cruise will have a buffet style dinner and two amazing bands, The Caverners and The Dreamboats.

THE CAVERNERS debuted in 1994 and have since been exciting audiences with their note for note perfect portrayal of The Beatles in concert.
