Mighty Muskoka day for Boat Rally for Kids

The sun is out, the skies are blue and the water is calm. It is a perfect Muskoka day for the 5th annual Boat Rally for Kids with Cancer in Muskoka. Each year the Boat Rally has been blessed with good weather and today is no exception. This stunning lake morning the opening brunch takes place at the Water’s Edge at the Lake Joe Club.

The Rally for Kids with Cancer Scavenger Cup in Toronto & Muskoka has raised more than $19,000,000 for children’s cancer research treatment and care at Sick Kids Hospital.

What is the Boat Rally for Kids with Cancer?
It is a unique, thrilling and exciting scavenger boating event that takes place on Lake Joseph and Lake Rosseau. More importantly, the funds raised from this event will support children’s cancer research, treatment and care at SickKids Hospital. A portion of the proceeds from this year’s Boat Rally will go towards Camp Oochigeas which is a privately funded, volunteer-based organization that provides kids with and affected by childhood cancer with unique opportunities for growth through challenging, fun enriching and magical experiences.

Celebrity Navigators are all part of the fun. If your team raises more than $15,000 you have an opportunity to “Draft” a celebrity to navigate your boat. This year Celebrity Navigators include: actors Billy Baldwin (who has been here every year from the first), Jason George, Lyndsy Fonseca, Donovan Carter, Pooch Hall,  Shantel VanSanten and John O’Hurley, Chopped Canada Host Brad Smith, Housewife Roxy Earle and athletes such as Heather Moyse, Alvin Williams, Brad May, Marty McSorley and many more. The Draft Party was held last night (Friday) at Oliver Bock’s beautiful cottage on Donzi Alley.

The Scavenger Cup boat rally will take place today and the event culminates with a party tonight Featuring  Alan Doyle (formerly of Great Big Sea) and Band. Gala ticket includes dinner, beverages and special performance.

You can still purchase tickets for $350 each and you can attend by buying tickets online. The party takes place at a private residence on Lake Joseph and we can tell you it is Tom McCormick’s gorgeous new cottage. The big question is: Will the great Nashville Predator PK Subban attend as he has every year (before Nashville that is.) See you there!
